School Uniforms
So this will be one of my shorter posts. This post is about school uniforms. I’ve watched a lot of Korean videos/shows about school, so I've thought about it quite a bit. Why do school uniforms in Korea look the way they do? This is what a European school uniform looks like.

The one on top are European uniforms. The one in the middle are Korean uniforms. The one on the bottom are American (private school) uniforms. Pretty similar right? They all have a jacket/vest, a bow or necktie, pants or a skirt, and a crest. These places on are 3 completely different continents yet their nearly identical, and KoSo why do Korean uniforms look almost exactly like it's western counterpart?
Uniforms in Korea
Uniforms in Korea were implemented all over the nation after the Japan-Korea Treaty of 1910 came about. Around this time, there were Western missionaries in Korea , so once they treaty hit uniforms started to look a lot more western. The normally ankle length skirt shortened and Jeogori (the upper part of a hanbok) became longer, resembling the jackets the we see in modern uniforms. In the 1930's Japan made a policy that totally got rid of Hanbok because they became more aware of western ways. The uniform just consisted a blouse and a skirt. Since then school uniforms in Korea have had a more of a western style.
